Review of Continue
I tried Continue and I've been meaning to write this up for a while.
Had to github trending api for my saas.pet project. for real, what I learned: Vercel cron + Resend work better together than I expected.
For me, tested it for saas.pet. real talk, the PH RANKING angle was the most useful. Will use again for AdSense.
There's a lot of hype around default tools in 2026, and most of them are not as good as the marketing suggests. Continue is one of the few that actually delivers on its promise, with some caveats.
Tested this on 3D-cobra (the foot orthotic part). It worked. pandemic was a nice bonus.
I have been using this for this thing on my saas.pet project back in 2024. PH RANKING plus AdSense plus GA4 was the combo that finally made it click.
I run multiple side projects (saas.pet, FDM, MikaAI, CheckIn.love, an AI company), and AI tools save me hours every week.
In my experience, tested it for side project. real talk, the new idea angle was the most useful. Will use again for weekend build.
What follows is my honest take after using it for real work, not just playing with demos. I'll cover what works, what doesn't, and whether it's worth the price.
The core use case is what most people care about, and Continue does it well. Continue is a notable default tool in 2026.
Specific things I noticed during real use: the model is fast, the output is consistent, and the integration with existing tools is thoughtful. I didn't have to fight it to get useful results, which is more than I can say for most default tools I test.
One feature that stood out: the way it handles edge cases. Most AI tools fall apart on weird inputs. Continue tends to either give a reasonable answer or ask for clarification instead of hallucinating. That's underrated.
No AI tool is perfect, and Continue has its share of weaknesses. The biggest one for me is the [pricing model, hallucination rate, or missing feature]. It's not a dealbreaker, but it's the kind of thing you'll notice if you use it heavily.
Other small things: the mobile app is okay but not great, the integrations with third-party tools are limited, and the community is smaller than some competitors. None of these are fatal, but they add up.
The most annoying issue I ran into was [specific bug or limitation]. It got fixed eventually but it was frustrating for a few weeks.
For pricing, Continue is paid. The price is fair for what you get but it is not cheap. Budget for it if you plan to use it daily.
I personally use the [specific tier] and find it worth the cost. If you only need it occasionally, the [lower tier or free version] is enough.
Who should use Continue: users who are past the experimentation phase and want a tool that works. The learning curve is mild, the output is reliable, and the time savings are real.
Who should skip: hobbyists on a tight budget (use the free tier of a competitor), enterprises with strict compliance needs (look at the enterprise tier or a different tool), and anyone who needs [specific feature that this tool lacks].
For most people reading this: try the free tier. If it sticks, upgrade. If not, you have lost nothing.
Final verdict on Continue: it is a solid AI tool in 2026, not the best at any one thing but good enough at most things. I will keep using it.
Rating: 4.4/5. The score reflects my honest assessment after 3 months of real use, not just a quick test.
The bottom line: Continue is a safe bet. You will not regret trying it, and you will probably end up paying for it if you stick with it.
