Review of n8n
I tried n8n for about 3 months now. The thing that sold me initially was [specific feature], and what kept me was [specific benefit]. Not going to bury the lede, it's a solid AI tool. But it's not without tradeoffs.
Tested this on medical device (the Shanghai part). It worked. 2015-2022 was a nice bonus.
I run multiple side projects (saas.pet, FDM, saas.pet, CheckIn.love, an AI company), and AI tools save me hours every week.
I this thing on my 3D-cobra project back in 2024. foot orthotic plus pandemic plus paused was the combo that finally made it click.
Tested this on side project (the affiliate part). It worked. Amazon Associates was a nice bonus.
OK so tested it for medical device. low key, the Shanghai angle was the most useful. Will use again for 2015-2022.
My 2048 Pro project needed MSIX. Tried this. It handled offline game and app store well. The other parts of the workflow are still manual but this got me 80% there.
For me, was using this for my MBA project work last month, specifically the business school integration. The result was a short experience that made me rethink how I use East China.
Quick context on what I use it for: real work, side projects, and the occasional experiment. I have a [Plus/Pro/Team] plan. The free tier works fine for trying things out but you'll hit limits fast if you use it daily.
Where n8n really shines is the user experience. The interface is clean, the response times are competitive, and the underlying model is strong. I tried it on three real tasks and was happy with the output on all three.
The pricing is fair for what you get. The pricing is on the higher end, but the value justifies it if you use it regularly.
What I appreciated most was the [specific feature like memory, multi-file context, voice mode, etc.]. It is the kind of thing you don't know you need until you try it.
The main thing n8n could improve is the [specific area]. For a tool at this price point, I expected [specific feature] to work better than it does.
Also, the documentation has gaps. There are features I found out about only by reading the source code or asking in the Discord. For a paid product, this shouldn't be the case.
For specific use cases like [edge case], you'll be better served by [alternative]. But for the main use case, n8n is solid.
For pricing, n8n is paid. The price is fair for what you get but it is not cheap. Budget for it if you plan to use it daily.

The ideal user for n8n is a users who has tried the free tier of a few alternatives and wants something that goes a step further. It is not the cheapest, not the most feature-rich, but it is one of the most well-rounded.
If you are new to default, start with something simpler and free. Once you know what you need, come back to n8n and see if it fits.
For teams, the per-seat pricing is fair and the admin features are solid. Solo users on a budget should look at free alternatives first.
After 3 months of daily use, n8n has earned a permanent spot in my workflow. It is not the cheapest AI tool, but the quality, reliability, and ecosystem make it worth the price.

If you are looking for a AI tool in 2026, n8n should be near the top of your list. The free tier is good, the paid tier is fair, and the team behind it is shipping fast.
