What saas.pet is

saas.pet is a daily AI tools directory. Every day, the site ranks 643+ AI tools across 35 categories — productivity, coding, image generation, video, audio, marketing, sales, finance, HR, legal, and more.

Unlike other AI tool lists, saas.pet is searchable. Tell us what you need in plain language ("transcribe a podcast", "review a contract", "build a logo") and we surface the right tools from a database that auto-expands as new products appear.

Why trust these reviews

• No free accounts for reviews. I pay for the tools I review. If a vendor offers me a free account, I either decline or disclose it in the review.
• No payment for rankings. Tools are ranked by community votes and trending data. Affiliate status is never a ranking signal. Read our editorial policy.
• First-person usage. Every review comes from real use — for work, for saas.pet itself, or for a side project. I do not auto-generate reviews from documentation.
• Honest verdicts. If a tool is bad, I say so. If a popular tool is overrated, I say so. Half the tools I use, I do not even like.

Our editorial process

Every tool on saas.pet has been through a real evaluation. Here is how it works.

1. Discovery. Tools enter our database from public sources. GitHub Trending, Product Hunt, Hacker News, manual outreach from founders, and submissions from readers. We do not accept paid placement.
2. First filter. We discard tools that are clearly vaporware, have no working product, or duplicate an existing entry. Roughly 60% of submissions are filtered at this step.
3. Hands-on test. For the remaining 40%, we sign up, pay if there is a paid tier, and use the tool for at least one real task. We do not write a review until we have actually used the product. We track the date of first use so we know how long we have been using each tool.
4. Review draft. Reviews are written by a single reviewer, in first person, based on actual use notes. We do not auto-generate reviews from product documentation. If we have not used a tool long enough to have an opinion, we wait.
5. Update cycle. AI tools change monthly. We re-test high-traffic tools every 90 days. We do not retroactively change reviews to match vendor pitches.
6. Affiliate policy. If a tool has an affiliate program, we may include an affiliate link in the review. The review itself is not influenced by affiliate status. We have turned down affiliate applications from tools we did not want to recommend.

This process is slower than fully automated directories. That is the point. We would rather have 700 honest reviews than 7,000 generic ones. The tradeoff is in your favor if you actually want to know whether a tool is worth your time.

What we are not

• Not a news site. Coverage is weekly, not hourly.
• Not a vendor directory. Tools cannot buy their way in.
• Not a marketplace. We do not process payments for tools.
• Not affiliated with any AI lab. We do not represent OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any other vendor.

Background

I started saas.pet in 2024 after I tried 50+ AI tools in a single month and ran out of ways to remember which was best. The first version was a Notion database shared with three friends. It is now an 8,600+ page site that ranks a new set of tools every day.

I work on saas.pet part-time, in the margins around my day job. The site is bootstrapped, with no outside funding, no investors, and no enterprise tier.

How saas.pet makes money

Three ways, all disclosed on every relevant page:

1. Affiliate links — when you sign up for a paid tool through saas.pet, the tool may pay us a small referral fee. You pay nothing extra. Full disclosure.
2. Display ads — saas.pet runs contextual ads on most pages. We do not run popups, interstitials, or autoplay video.
3. Tool search engine — saas.pet/find is a free AI tool search engine. Future Pro tiers may add extras like saved searches and unlimited API access.
