What we like

The ecosystem is unmatched. Custom GPTs, plugins, DALL-E 3 image generation, code interpreter, web browsing, mobile app, voice mode. ChatGPT does it all.

Reasoning is much better. GPT-5's reasoning improvements are noticeable on complex tasks. It handles multi-step problems, math, and coding better than GPT-4o.

Memory is useful. ChatGPT remembers context across conversations. Tell it your preferences once, and it applies them forever.

Custom GPTs are a marketplace. Build or use GPTs specialized for specific tasks. The GPT Store has thousands of community-built GPTs for everything from cooking to legal research.

Mobile app is best-in-class. Voice mode, image upload, web browsing — the iOS and Android apps are the most polished AI apps available.

What we don't like

Still trails Claude on nuanced reasoning. For complex, subtle tasks — legal analysis, technical writing, careful debugging — Claude Opus 4.8 still has the edge.
